Heat Recovery in the UK

The information provided in this section will inform everyone - from novice to expert - of the common practices of heat recovery in the UK and abroad. We will offer the expertise of Aerotherm Environmental's wealth of experience in heat recovery and provide links to heat recovery case studies in the UK.

What is Heat Recovery

Aerotherm’s staff see large amounts of heat and energy wasted in many industrial settings in the UK, whether it is from heat intensive processes or machinery that is producing surplus heat as a by-product. The recovery of this heat can be used in a number of applications, either piped directly in to the facility to reduce the load on existing heating equipment, used to pre-heat a process, heat water for general site use or be converted into energy and sold back to the grid.

Different types of Heat Recovery

Aerotherm Environmental should be your first port of call for boiler optimisation. Waste heat recovery systems (WHRS), waste heat boilers (WHB), heat recovery units (HRU), heat recovery silencers (HRS) heat recovery ventilation systems (HRVS), feedwater preheaters, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) and exhaust steam boilers. Whatever your requirements, Aerotherm can offer you a bespoke heat recovery system to suit your needs.

Aerotherm's Experience

Aerotherm Environmental has a wealth of heat recovery experience within the UK. Please take a look at our case study section above for details of our past projects. We pride ourselves on providing our customers detailed cost justification, including capital outlay, energy savings, and payback period. We take into account government legislation and standards, so all of our designs conform with Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, the Expert Panel of Air Quality Standards (EPAQS), HSG258 LEV reporting, maximum and minimum workplace conditions and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).

The key differentiation from other energy experts and consultants is that we deliver, install, commission and support our recommended solutions and we are accountable for the results.

Aerotherm Environmental continues to develop and consult with a broad base of equipment suppliers and energy management experts to integrate into our green solutions and products. For example: The Carbon Trust, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) low carbon consultants and the energy agencies Envirowise and Groundworks.
